On August 6, 2022, Fort Osage National Landmark in Sibley, Missouri,
will host its second Ladies’ Academy workshop, from 9:00 a.m. –
1:00 p.m. In the early 1810s, many young women attended Ladies’
Academies to continue their formal education. Based on these historic
Ladies’ Academies, our workshop is open to youth ages 10-14. A
parent or guardian may also participation with a ticket purchase.
Advanced registration is required. Tickets are $15. Staff will lead
activities taught at these historic academies including hearth baking,
hand sewing, and a historic craft.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear good walking shoes
for uneven terrain. Light snacks will be served. Staff and guests will
follow current Jackson County COVID policies.
